If you enjoy wine you probably have a lot of empty wine bottles to get rid of. I know we do. We have a very good recycling service in our area so our wine consumption is not adding to the landfill but I’ve recently come across another use for empty wine bottles – the bottle tree.
The history of the bottle tree can be traced back to its African origins where bottles were suspended from trees in the belief the glinting of the bottles in the sun would attract and trap evil spirits.
We might not believe that bottles can trap evil spirits, however, the bottle tree has evolved into a unique garden decoration. A bottle tree provides you with the opportunity to be creative in your garden and use your empty wine bottles. A bottle tree can be placed almost anywhere and can be moved whenever you like.
And best of all a bottle tree requires no watering or feeding and it won’t die!
